We've been contacted by a supposed distributor from Costa Rica, specialized in Cuban cigars (sic). Let's see...
"We offer you  a  selection of the best Cuban Cigars imported directly from Habana, Cuba and shipped from our warehouse in Costa Rica. Now you can purchase Cuban cigars for the real wholesale price. Hard to believe?

Yes indeed! 150 $US (or 115 €) for Cohiba Piramides EL 2001, 140 $US (or 106 €) for Siglo VI, or even better: Montecristo Robustos EL 2001 for 140 $US (or 106 €), this is better than a wholesale price, this is almost a gift from God (or at least, from Cuban people)…

The company's name says it all: cigarsesplendidos. Bingo! Don't laugh... That makes sense. The most counterfeit cigar in the world is giving its name to grey retailers!

Now, just a last word. People at cigarsesplendidos seems to be quite confused, even making counterfeit cigars. The holographic tags are used only in Cuba and sticked on boxes sold by local retailers. These tags have nothing to do with exports and distributors. Anyway, with or without holographic tags, the cigars sold by our Costa Rican amateurs are not from the Vuelta.

The text says: "Longer is Better - Havana is still the world center for cigars. And, before to reach our mouths, some cigars are rolled on the workers' thighs.

Well… Cigar legends everlast, definitely. As soon as the popular press deals with specialized subjects, you can read huge stupidity. Oh my… sometimes I feel desperate.

Special Contest
And the winner is...

Now that we know the winner of this very special contest, we just hope he'll not be desappointed by his price. ;-D

It's kitsch, and moreover, it's falser than false. Hold tight! Here is a Cohiba Millenium jar made of leather. Crazy! Is it full of Piramids? Certainely not! They invented the Cohiba Millenium Figurado with an old style foot and a twist on the top.

Ornaments, flashy style, inlays, this item comes from an official and famous retailer of Beirut... which openly sells counterfeits to the most credulous of its customers.

Congratulations to Mr Raoul van Zuylen from Huy, Belgium, who first recognized this strange artifact. He will receive a sample of this exotic thing.

Unusual object... Are you able to find out what's on this picture (and inside this object)?

Take a look at this item. If you know what is depicted, email your answer at info@shortcut-cigars.com. The first customer who will precisely tell us the answer (brand, vitola, shape) will get a free sampler. Good luck!

The marketing and publicity team who did this work probably doesn't smoke (or do smoke too much).

Using the picture of a coleopter evolving on cigars… how people smoking cigars could not make the relation with lasioderma serricorne? Okay, but even for non smokers, what's the point? What relation between this large insect and a chic department stores? Ladies and gents from the marketing team, what's in your mind? You flying high.

This said, let's mention that Shortcut-Cigars still own the only lasioderma gigante found to date. ;-) (Okaaaay… the entomologists will not fail to point out that this monster is, in fact, a lady Oryctes nasicornis, and not a lasioderma).
