«Compadre Roman Varela»
Kit (20 cigars)
This kit includes two of each of 10 different cigars.

Aromas de San Andres — Robusto
This robusto finds expression in the herbal and
floral registers, first offering up citrus notes. The nice
spring-like touch tickles the nose and gently warms the tongue,
with hints of ferns and other dried herbs. Though it lacks
flair, a dependable and satisfying vitola which purrs along
nicely—change of scenery guaranteed. Very subtle traces
of Brazil nuts at the end, then a swing toward the essence
of exotic woods (mahogany).
Santa Clara Special Edition — Robusto
Much like a dominican, this robusto gets started
in a herbal register (ferns) with nice peppery touches. The
smoke is somewhat acidic; woody flavours follow. Becomes a
little unstructured in the final third, but offers strong
and bitter notes. A cigar which is limited in its aromatic
palette and a little “square” personality-wise,
best smoked outdoors or with detachment.
Santa Clara 1830 — Robusto
Very subtle beginning. Distinctively woody, with hints of meat and
licorice—demands attention. The meaty notes strengthen,
followed by aromas of toast, pepper and hints of dried wood,
offering up a full-bodied smoke in the end.
Andrea's — Numero 3
Intense aromas from the start, making for a very mellow smoke. Notable
hints of licorice. This cigar has a nice strength which tickles
the nasal cavity and is quite pleasant. At the half-way point,
peppery notes come through, still in a predominantly woody
register. Livens up in the last third and takes on the flavour
of antique furniture.
Te-Amo Cabinet Selection — Robusto
You’ll be transported with the first mouthful! This vitola releases
a myriad of meaty, woody and herbal flavours, with a full,
tasty, long-lasting smoke. Hints of licorice, underbrush,
dry leaves... a very balanced and satisfying cigar.
Te-Amo Aniversario — Robusto
Very subtle beginning. Distinctively woody, with hints of meat and
licorice—demands attention. The meaty notes strengthen,
followed by aromas of toast, pepper and hints of dried wood,
but the smoke could use more body and consistency.
A. Turrent 2000 — Robusto
Now here’s a cigar with personality—completely out of
the ordinary. Thick, full-bodied smoke. Dominant aromas are
strong and bitter (toast and roasted coffee). Settles in during
the second third (still well-structured, but a little on the
wild side) offering up interesting hints of herbs and woody
notes. Delivers a satisfying strength without being aggressive—a
remarkably balanced liga. Peaceful and richly aromatic from
beginning to end.
A. Turrent Organic Series — Robusto
This robusto has an ethereal attack—a smoke filled with clear
flavours, but with an unusual sensation because of a bitter
delivery. There are peppery, minty notes, yet it feels like
a mouthful of little fruit sours. Takes on body with time.
This stick has great potential and the means to express it—heady,
in spite of a modest strength, with seductive aromas of musk,
humid old wood, pepper and spices. Bewitching and completely
out of the ordinary.
Irene — Robusto
Nuanced and restrained with a subtle strength, making it perfect for
an appetizer or an afternoon smoke. The mid-range aromas require
concentration; they seem to draw effortlessly from several
different registers, and it’s difficult to discern a
dominant starting note—meaty, bitter, woody... Dried
earth, ferns, dry wood, and almonds or roasted coffee beans
are also present in addition to the animal flavours. A pleasant
surprise for the discriminating palate.
La Victoria — Miranda Petit Torpedo
Unlit, this stick has the surprising taste of rotting wood. It’s
a tantalizing little cigar, with uncommonly rich aromas right
from the start. Lives up to its promise, too, with an energetic
delivery that produces a heavy and long-lasting smoke. As
perky as an Italian expresso, from which it borrows the strong
and bitter flavours. This little firecracker leaves a soft
heat in the mouth, along with pronounced notes of pencil wood
and an underlying flavour of toast.
